Anyone know the genuine parts numbers for valve seats and guides for a a15 head??? also am i going to be able to replace the seats without too much effort?? im guessing i heat the head in the oven to bout 200'c and just knock em out with a punch,or should i just let the pros put em in?? another ? has anyone worked out a "torque to yeild" setting for the "13" head bolts??? Cheers Tom

Ever seen what an engine looks like, after you dropped a seat at 5000rpm's......

it is money very wisely wasted, by having that done by the pro's. But, that's just me...

I think none of the Datsun head bolts will be "Torque to yield" newer cars use them I think the are a once off use bolt as the metal deforms permanently at a certain torque to ensure they are tightened to the right torque.

Just torque up the head bolts (all of them) to the workshop manuals torque specs.

if you don't have the specs let us know.

I would suggest taking it to a cylinder head shop.
Ask around to get references of cylinder head shops in your area to get one that will do the job right the first time.

I am lucky here where I live.
The owner of the cylinder head shop is a Datsun fanatic. When he sees me, he just wants to know what have I done to the car lately. He promised me that he will give my GX head precise attention when I finally decide to take it in to get work done to it.
