Just the AWD thing would be so cool. You rock up at the lights next to a WRX and the guy laughs at you. Your car is lighter so you pound him on the start....
"No worries, I blitz em on the twisties in front..."
But to no avail, because you too, have AWD and all he can do cry a lot because his gearbox broke again...

Hmmmm hard decision but i would have to go with a HSV Generation 3 V8, all running gear *like it would fit* but dreams are free right

I have to agree with Lobster on this one I've been dreaming of this setup since I bought my truck. This one's definitely not heading that direction but if I buy another one it might!

I'll throw my $0.02 in : A12 with some sort of Twin Cam head and Fuel injection - Gearbox diffinetly sequential. My sports racer was motorcycle engine powered and sequentila box is much nicer , left foot brake and go up and down through the box without having to use clutch. Maybe adapt Honda Goldwing gear box to A12. Beam axle is fine but get rid of leaf spring rear end and go to 4 link.

seems to me that a datsun 1200 is abaut as close to a clubman as you can get without looking like one, dosn't weigh much more and same configeration, front engine rear drive, so why not do what they do in the UK and install a big bike engine gearbox combo. big power small weight , ideal.

I don't want 20 inch wheels on a 1200. I think big wheels on a ute is cool. Not cool on a sedan or coupe, where I think 13x7 or 13x8 alloys are the coolest. Lowered with rounded steel flares (not bolt on).

I'd like a kick ass engine, with "stealth" exhaust or loud-as exhaust. All or nothing kind of style.

Actually..I'd just like to get my project finished..that's pretty much a reflection of what I want. Having more money would only make it happen quicker. I'm pretty excited about what my rear suspension will look like. It'll hang nicely out the back of the car, looking at it from behind will be mean, with the diagonal mounted coil overs and chromed big diff cover.
I'm now dreaming about a hard drag launch..with the car squatting in the rear and the car taking off slightly diagonally with a little body twist...front wheels only just off the ground...And the sound of an Ari Vartenan Peugeot at Pikes peak kinda noise coming from the engine bay.

You wanted me to share my dream...
