Jake

Yes there is a copyright/patent issue. We don't have a patent on the product but by admitting that you have copied the product is provides grounds for us to sue. In saying that, of course we wouldn't.

These items don't need a brain surgeon (or avionics engineer) to design, they're pretty simple, however it's not particularly admirable to just copy someone else's rather than spend the hours we have in designing the product ourselves.

Mad Dat Motorsport, being a company, warrants it's products against defect, loss in transit, quality and carry significant public liability insurance. All products are checked over by our engineer for strength, quality and compliance.

You mention that your gearbox cross member is stronger, however it appears you use a thinner walled pipe compared to our thicker-walled angle. So in relation to above, without having your item reviewed and tested by an engineer, you make assumptions.

Just to clarify, the powdercoated engine cross members are $195 if you return your cross member. The gearbox cross member (powdercoated) is $155 and the essential custom-made polyeurethane insulating engine mounts are $99. So $450 or $550 without exchange. We also have excellent freight rates because we freight daily. We don't make any money on freight.

Just a note to other people reading this thread that are considering buying this product, but some other products from us. Because Jake's X-members sit 1cm lower, some of our products may not fit, as they are all designed around how an engine sits using our kit.

Cheers, Scott
