yeah man, just hold the button in the tray and it releases n u can lower the tray down. putting it back up just hold the button in again to make the cylinders contract and then move into place and let go and its securely locked. when i get the time i'll get some photos of hte inside of the tailgate to show u guys exactly what is going on. is a pretty nifty piece of work that dad came up with i reckon.

hay mate.

just asking were did you get the black/plastic molded for the inside tray??? my ute is all dinted and metal. how much did it set you back???

yeh man ur right. it is rhino lining. forgot exactly how much it was. like 500 i think. not too shore. will have to check with dad later. its awesome stuff. am looking to put a fiberglass lid over the top of it so you will hardly ever see the stuff but oh well. fifnally got some speakers to go in there, now just waiting for my brother to come round and hook it all up for me

ohh and by the way there is a newfiberglass lid going for 900 bucks on ebay check it out it has 1 day and 20 hours and no1 wants it by the looks of it. no bids

if your tray is already in decent condition you can get this stuff from many automotive places
its called anti chip coating
it comes in a long can and you get a special spray gun which attaches straight to the can
its about 27 dollars a can it co cover it good will take about 3 cans
