check the tacho wires big black ones with a white trace they have to be plugged in to the tacho or plugged together

yeah its usually the ignition barrel, only providing ignition power when in the start(or close to the start) position. same thing was happening to a 200b i had a while back,and have had many other cars with the same problem, new ignition barrel fixed it on the 200b
