im having trouble pulling the choke knob off ... the other knobs came off with the push and twist method but this one wont move at all and has no screw in it to undo ... any ideas?

I dont think its meant to come off... take the whole cable out.

Doesnt the whole cable come out of the sleeve with the knob attached permanently. Then you just put a dob of grease on it when threading it back through

well its got a shoulder onthe cable on the other side so i cant pull it out of the dash and i need to get the knob off to feed it back into the dash

A shoulder, You mean at the carby ? disconnect the choke cable completely at the carby pull it back like your pulling it on but keep going till the cable is right out. Then undo the little round nut on the front with the grooves in it then pull it out from under the dash. Carefully bring it out from under the dash and pull it gently through the firewall grommet. Then Wallah ya done.

Yes the knob does come off. push and twist...its the same as the others [lights and wipers]

Mine doesnt come off unless i break it off. Could be an after market job i guess.

 choke cable The yellow arrows point to the washer that needs to be unscrewed before the cable can be removed from the dash.

ok from that pic the knob must come off. Looks like I've only ever had aftermarket choke cables haha
