for a 1200 either is fine.

The skyline diff is a 28 spline 4 pinion (same as used on Commodore V8 and rb30et) 3.7/3.9:1

The pintara diff is a 25 spline 2 pinion (same as used on Commodore VL 6 cyl). 3.9/4.1:1

do you reckon it will handle a fair bit of hp?

It's not the HP it's the torque. They will handle anything an A series will dish out. Or even an Sr. Use the 28 spline as it makes it easier for LSD options.

25 spliners have LSDs too...just most of them suit the nice 2.7:1 performance gearsets

You can make a 25 spline 4 pinion lsd using the side gear and cone from a standard 25 spline lsd but it is alot easier to stick with the 28.
