Preparing to sell my Datsun... Good asking price?

I have a 1977 620 series Datsun Pickup I am getting ready to sell. It has a two year old paint job (a few rust spots/bubbles), brakes, shocks, tires, new wiring (under the hood only), and a year old weber carburator and coil. It runs reliably, though it may take a bit to learn the "special touch" it needs. It likes to die while idling in drive (4 speed automatic). 5500 went into restoring it, though that restoration was just to make it drivable. What would be a reasonable asking price? What would be the most I could hope for? What should the lowest amount I accept? I live in the USA, West Coast. Thanks for any advice you give. I have two other POV pictures if needed.

In Australia, they were never anything special with that terribly antiquated J15 engine.

Now I'm older and wiser.. It kind of looks like a 160J SSS (Violet) in styling, and I think it looks ok.

I wouldn't be planning for more than $3000. But there are Datsun nutcases around that may prove me wrong.

thats a nice ute...hehehe just like mine except you have the style side and i have the tray back...you should sell at about 5k. Usually the best price to ask for for a restored beauty. They are nice little trucks. I have an L20B in mine, is so much better then the j15

Nice truck, but if you're in California, and that truck is a '77, it probably won't pass smog with the Weber carb on it. (And the seller is responsible, btw)

Check prices on craigslist.org in the Los Angeles area. There are usually a few 620's for sale.

The USA Datsun truck experts are at http://forum.ratsun.net. They can give you a price estimate.

Here, we mostly know Datsun 1200s.
