buy a crapy disposable camera and get the pics put on to cd at the lab, only costs $10. Do you need to change the drive shaft? if not still get the original ballanced. i did this on my escort when changing engines, it was really out of ballance, but then again its a ford so youve got to expect that.

Yep, Sure is.
An out of balance drive shaft robs precious horsepower

As devildat says, it about power to weight and we need all the power we can get

i said that when i was thinking he would be using the old shaft, with new i definatlely would want it

how would it rob horsepower though i dont understand that?? or are you just talking about a minimal amount

Out of balance forces create small amounts of extra drag internally in the box and diff unis ect. The main problem is is takes more power to accellerate the drive shaft if it has an pout of balance component (think of a piece of plasticine on the side of a length of rod and trying to accelerate this to 8000 rpm. A lot more effort is required to accellerate it if the engine has to overcome out of balance forces.

Any vibration that can be removed from a 1200 is going to make it a more comfortable car. There is 30 more years of NVH science (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) in the new cars ... 1200s are quite uncomfortable over long distances because of all the vibrations.

hehehe day 2 over no problems today the engine bay has been rubbed back to smooth, got any rust out and used rustkill and then primed tommorow is painting, cutting extractors then making a sleve for it, watch the paint dry (if the rain stays away ), and setup up engine, for engine bay entry

cutting the exhuast from the extractors first would have solved all your day 1 problems? why didnt you do that since you were gonna cut and flange it anyway?
