Everyone is driving on secondhand balljoints. As soon as you drive out of the garage, your new balljoints become secondhand.

nothing wrong with second hand balljoints as long as they dont have any unwanted play in them

and revhead, no one should use miks car as an example of what happens with a strut conversion

i know plenty of cars that are running all the stanza stuff and no scrub with 15s, any wheel that doesnt fit properly will scrub and mik just persists on using those type of wheels

any neg offset rim scrubs on my car....

i have a kids too but when we buy 30 year old cars im guessing most of us just keep on driving till some thing needs replacing or we upgrade.
I bought a 4 year old car and put a 2nd hand hub on it... used the existing ball joint. Dont really see any or much difference.

and when we by these 2nd hand set ups, i dont think alot of people rebuild them completely. they just check them and bolt them in.

I like safety first too, but I dont consider it a compromise if its in safe useable condition.
