just wondering what the performance issues would be if i took the plastic spacer out from under the carby with the aluminium tube in it and replaced it with one that doesnt have a tube in it

Is this under a stock carby or under a weber 32/36 or similer?

Aluminium pipe??!?

I know what you're talking about but I haven't ever seen one with an aluminium pipe. If I recall you were after a stock carby.

I wouldn't expect any power loss.

Maybe pop up a picture.

Yes, that will change the performance ... for the worse. You won't notice much change though, more likely to notice your fuel costs go up a bit.

well starting cold has gone out the door and it runs like a bag of s**t now. but as for fuel economy i'm getting the best i've had since i bought the car. ah well a ca will fit in there quite nicely soon enough

make sure two things are true
1. you have power and ground at the choke
2. that the choke is adjusted correctly

Well I'll be danged, none of mine have that. What it does though is allow the mixture to speed up before it's mixed and distributed to the cylinders, I would like to make a tube suitable for my 32\36
