As I start to get stuck in to the conversion, I can see me pulling the engine in and out numerous times so am looking at buying a crane for myself.
I have seen a few around, supercrap has them for $300 and this fella has them for $325, which i can pick up as he's in Adelaide. It also comes with a leveler and engine stand. Can any body recommend another place or thinks this one above is a good buy?!?
Or if you want to sell me yours?

I bought mine from Brendan's tools - but I got the engine crane and stand separate - much better that way as you can have one engine and the stand and go pick up another one with the crane.

That Brendan's tools guy was pretty cool, no complaints from here.

I don't really have a use for the engine stand at the moment as I don't plan on touching the SR at all. I know what you mean though.
I might take a look out there and see what he's got.
I just thought that leveler may come in handy, save trying to muck around bolting up to different points to get the engine sitting right..

I bought mine from supercheap during a sale. I like it but the front arms are very wide, wouldn't go past my tyres. I had to jack the car up and rest the control arms on the cranes arms so the crane could reach my engine bay.

I might get a friend to do a chop and weld to lower the crane a little and bring the arms in.

I got mine cheap but again the arms are too wide to fit under a 1000 without jacking it up.

Absolute must. Payed $275.00 for mine at Supercheap years ago and could not have done without it. Yes its a little wide and hits on the wheels but during engine fitment trials the coupe had no struts so it was not a issue.

Easier than a block and tackle and safe.

Don't you have Harbor Freight in Adelaide?

The smallest hoists are too big for Datsun 1200s. I paid $175 USD for mine at Seattle Tool, but with Harbor Freight they are now $125 - $150.

I just used it to pull a storm pipe out of the ground. Very useful.

My only advice would be fine one that folds up. I had one and it was great for about 3 months while I was pulling the motor in and out regularly but once I'd finished it just sat in the corner taking up a lot of room. I ended up selling it as I got sick of it wasting space...

I've had my jigger for near on 15 years now. It's the best investment I have made so far. Unfortunately it does not fold and takes up plenty of room. Every time I unbolt it and put it to one side I seem to need it again, So it takes up permanent residency in the middle of my shed making random attacks on the unweary civilian. Ooh. look at that, I'll just... WHACK... (engine crane mumbles 'cop that') Although mine doesn't hit on the wheels, on smaller cars it does hit on control arms. The best job it has done so far is it was used to pull the 351 from a Bronco with a massive lift kit. It was extended out as far as possible and wanted to tilt forward but with 2 blokes standing on it we avoided a major catatrosphy!!
