#11 Re: Thermo fan in 1200 with A14 radiator

Hey for those with thermo fans that work or have tried them & found them not efficent enough - what CFM rating were they?

It appears a 12" fan can have anything from 750-2450cfm with most of the cheapos only being available in the 750-1250cfm range - it might simply be that they don't push enough air to simulate the car moving.

Even some of the dear arse Spal ones have bugger all actual air flow, as of course in certian situations they don't need it & the lower current draw is a benefit.

@kulula
Yip, mine I changed the polarity to push air through the radiator and not extract it forward.

I think it is better to mount a electric fan on the inside of the engine bay so that it pulls air through the radiator. The idea of air being pushed through a radiator with fine fins like mine does'nt seem to work. i suspect also that because the fan is infront of the radiator it partially blocks airflow to the radiator.
But as mentioned, due to the thick radiator core there is'nt enough space between engine and radiator to fit it on the inside.
I want to later cut the radiator hole bigger and fit a bigger aluminium core radiator that is thin so that I can fit the fan on the inside.
