Hey ZigZag, i can get a bonnet to you for no more than $50, i will have to find out an exact price tomorrow.
About fitment, i will fit one to all three of the 1200's i have here and take photos to show how it sits.

Any idea on whether you'll be making fibreglass ones and what the price would be.
Also any info on whether these are built with a break line or anything to make them crumple in crashes vs guilotining your head off? :)
Cheers
Nick

this is exactly the same reaction that topgear got when he made his H165 LSD, and frankthedolphintrainer got when he group made his turbo manifolds. Everyone wants but no one can afford. For funks sake people, this is top quality merchandise we're talkin about and to put it in perspective, most people who own a bmw don't even flinch when every 6 months they spend $3,000 on a grease/oil change. How can you complain about 1600 bucks for top quality kevlar?

i had actually budgeted $1000 for this which is a massive percentage of my build costs compared to $3000 into a bmw and was/still am looking forward to getting one, like i said cant justify it ATM, but if youd like to give me some of your money ill gladly buy one.

People are entitled to spend or not spend there money. Dont whinge/complain about other peoples money situations. It was not ment to offend

As said, I will be looking into getting one later down the track. And yes i beleive they are great quality.

would it possible to give a rough price giude on postage for these as im sure most people would be interested in that also

for eg sydney
melb etc

Freight prices always vary, but as a guide we sould be able to get one to most capital citys for about$40-$80. And possibaly free to some parts of Sydney and Adelaide.

At this stage we are not looking at making fiberglass bonnets, as the guy that is making them is a carbon/kevlar specialist.

Hi Guys I have been asked to have a look at this site by my cousin clint and his son Luke .My name is Rick I work as a Tech Sales. Rep for fgi Gold Coast.I specialise in infusion and have been involved in the mould making and infusion process of these bonnets.I have noticed people asking where the kevlar is ,the kevlar is sandwiched between 2 layers of 198g carbon twill. The kevlar is 300g satin weave .The resin that is used is a vinyl based infusion resin which has a Heat Distortion Temp of 120-130deg whereas epoxy only has a HDT of 70-80deg after post curing.

yeah thats what he was saying about being able to buy cheap taiwanese crap
sure they could be conisdered light weight bonnets as the steel thats used is stupidly thin

but its a full carbon kevlar bonnet thats actually been checked on real cars to ensure that it fits, and that are a fraction of the weight of a standard one but still as strong...or a fair bit stronger im guessing
