you have 2 maps in the stock ecu the main map and the knock map(has less timing ,more fuel) .if you use a nistune daughterboard you can remap stock ecu and swap maps. you have a boost controller in the ecu so why not use it.
solenoid is just a solenoid heaps of cars have them for emission system switching. exa w/ a ca have about 3 the same as a CA solenoid.
i am currently turning a de harness into a det harness by removing the bits i want and reinserting them into the plugs.
i made up a probe to depress the tang that locks the individual connectors into the plugs then you gently pull them out .very little force is required, if it doesnt want to come out youve missed the tang
did you get that wiring diag i sent?
i downloaded an S13 ca shop manual. i found it a lot of help but it is a european spec so there are some minor differences.
the more you study it the easier it looks

so what do i do if i want to run more than stock boost?

the knock map, it comes in once the boost solenoid tells the computer that there is boost?

and its not in the euro wiring diagram....why do they not use it?

euro has line from intake to actuator ie: no control
more than stock boost bleed of a little signal when solenoid switched
knock map is safe map for when knock occurs, if you fit nistune and dual map switch ,change knock map to low boost map and change std map to high boost BUT you will have no safe map to go to if knock occurs so tune must be bang on
PLMS in adelaide sells dual map setup
just get it going std first then worry about hotting it up

Don't muck around with the dual map rubbish. Keep the standard knock map and write a high octane map to suit whatever hardware you have. Once you get a feel for it tweaking chips is not that hard.

In the end if your knock sensor is telling it to move to the knock map then you want it to do it. The knock map is more conservative than what your low boost map is going to be.

In the end you are building a budget DE+T motor so it's not like you'll be running drastically different boost levels. Just work out what works and stick with it.

right so just leave it as is a see what happens...sounds good to me
and if it does die its not like its hard to get another bare DE to replace it
hmmm now i wonder what boost levels a t25g will get to free boosting, might be something ill have to try once the L series is EFI'd up and ready to go back in

Hahaha! you think you are going to ever go back to the L-series once you've had a CA turbs in there??

Not likely.

BTW you'll get 25+psi out of the turbo with no line to the wastegate. They spike really high as they first come on boost but then will drop off in the high revs as they run out of puff.
