Im driving to work doing 70-100 and just sitting on a speed and accelerating she'll cough and spit. Should i give it some nasal spray? (carby cleaner) and check my sparks and crap?

Check your spark plug wires.

Is it a twin-carb? Check the carb synchronization.

just checked/cleaned everything. all good. nah stock carb. it seems it wont idle smoothly either. itll idle bout 900 then sound like its gonna stall.

fuel filter is quite new. couple months maybe.

tried points gap, condition of the rotor button and the dissy posts inside the cap?
check your timing at static and full advance too and make sure the dissy isnt stuffed

think its my distributor woody, its making a mad noise and everytime it makes the noise the tacho goes crazy. Does it need replacing?

edit: are a12 and a14 dizzy interchangable

take your filter off and hold it upright and shake the fuel out of the bottom into a glass or a something u can see through...


check that it doesnt have beads of water in the bottom... i had similar problems with my ute.

took me ages 2 work out...

its cool. was me dizzy. went and got another one this morning from an a12 and swapped it. all is good now. learnt timing and #### at the same time.
