i have used genuine Weber down draft IDF carbs

price: $450

The Idf are hard to find manifolds for the A series.
Usually common on Alfa Sud SOHC 1.6 only.
The 1.8 and twin cam boxers usually only came with fuel injection.
I had an old vw based porsche spider copy 15 years ago with the 1.8 and twin 40mm IDAs it was a rocket but everything shook and flexed terribly as it was poorly constructed and 20 years old then.

this maybe true, how ever im sure there would be quite a few exhaust shops willing to make up a manifold to suit. weather it be a datsun or otherwise. should nearly be cheaper to make than extractors. then if your worried about heat, wrap them or have the manifold ceramic coated.

also thanks for the info, i really had no idea what these would have originally come from. i was taking a stab in the dark really :P but they seem to be in great condition
