That engine should have no issues fitting on a 120Y B210 should it?

This is a 253 cube Holden V8 in a B210 without firewall or trans tunnel mods, so yes, the L series has enough room to fit nicely.

If anyone is interested, it's legally registered in NSW.

Isn't there some issue with the tunnel in manual 120ys?

As far as I know, in the B210 floorpan, they standardised on the auto tunnel.
It's the 1200 that has large & small trans tunnels.

The car in the picture runs a Try-matic. [Oh all right then, it's a Trimatic]

The tunnel may be standardised but the gearbox mounting hardware is not. It is much bulkier and mounted approx 100mm further forward creating a bottle neck in the manual tunnel where the extension housing of the L series gearbox should be. The auto tunnel makes everything easier.

Damn, I'm in love.
Thats what my original plan for the 120 was, but i have been advised that theres no way that it will be engineered due to new laws that are regulating engine replacements in pre 1980 cars.

Do you know when this guy got his done?

Yeah i have heard that the manual tunnel on the B210 may be a bit too small for any box larger than what came standard in the 1400. eg. the box from a A15 wouldnt fit.
Not too sure how true this info is, but if anyone has any info, PLEASE let me know.
