Crikey. I hate seeing Datsuns all bent up.

Good to hear you are safe, and amazingly the crumple zones actually worked.

There are still plenty of nice straight sedans around for you to find a new shell.

I always use the rule when driving my Datto, if you think someone is going to pull out in front of you..assume the worst and slow down. Insurance won't help you fix your datto whether it's your fault or not.

i had a mini and people would always pull put on me as they thought "small car, cant be going all that fast"
then i had an F100. people would nearly always wait. "if that hits me i'm toast"
people are dumb and you have to be even more cautious in small cars.
do you think maybe the matt black was hard to see?

yeah all good to hear your all ok,

i had a mini too, car overtook a truck on a single road, i braked, plater 2 weeks having licence be hind wasnt paying attention and rear ended me at 70kmh, i was sent into the path of the on coming double b soil truck, engine and gear box in passenger footwell. i broke 3 ribs and my sternun for the 4th ime and all i could see was the back of the car thinking, yeah thats foxable... till i saw the front. passenger a pillar snaped through the passenger seat head rest too. truck was doing 70kmh the opposite way. was on way to shannons to increase agreed value from 7k to 14k as finally finished to modified concourse condition. They are a brick and held together like a brick too, strong lillte cars.

Cars are repairable or replaceable, we arent

thats why ppl dont use their restored cars as daily drives much, too much chance of it getting bent by some fool not concentrating. and yeah in little light cars u need to allow more for others not stopping. not long ago I had a massive Nissan 300C (cedric) and an mx5 convertible, roof off pulled out in front of me, if i hadnt changed lanes i would have rolled right over or through the thing.

hope u get on the road again, at least if u reshell it u have plenty spares.

i know it sounds dodgy but if it's sitting in your yard until the insurers come to have a look at it could you start stripping it for parts now so even if they won't sell it to you you'll have all the parts?
