yeah the fit in pretty easy in the engine bay, i needed to make some custom headers up so that they would fit past the steering box and odler arm. but now the V6 actually sounds like a real engine, unlike pretty much every other commodore v6 out there

only had to cut into the firewall as i dummied the engine up without the throttle body on it, and then it just fit the firewall when i put it in.
theres plenty of room in front of the engine for the radiator and such, pretty sure an L series is longer than the v6
trans tunnel would be a fair bit of work as the autos are huge, but nothing a new tunnel wont fix

and yeah probably wouldnt be any good for any kind of mid to high speed cornering with all the weight up the front...could just run semi slicks all the time

wouldnt really say it was a good idea for a road car unless you were after a burnout car that you wanted to drive on the street. coz its never going to be legal either

saying that mine with a stock engine, stock auto, 3.9 gears and 185 14s has no problem finding limiter on the spot in top gear. hoping it can still do it with 3.08s and 205 15s

Wow!!!
That Rigoli Ute is really neat - everything fits well too.

Even though a V6 would have more weight than a CA or SR for example, I'm guessing the weight would be spread wider rather than longer - given that the Cylinder banks would only be three deep on each side - as opposed to four in a line.

Weight would obviously play a huge part in handling, but isn't weight more critical when it's extending past the crossmember / front wheels?
(This is not fact - just a thought)

But, The new Alloytech V6 Commodore engine could be fun - anyone know it's weight?

ask yourself 1 question "do i want to go around corners?"
if the answer is no then go the v6
put it as far back as possible
if the answer is yes then find another way
an sr is too heavy!
rigoli ute? beautiful drag car. but you can bet it would be horrible to drive on the street even with the right wheels
dazza

A V6-powered 1200 can go around corners. How well is the question. I would say if you did the suspension right, it would go around corners better than a stocker 1200. If you put the V6 back enough, it will go around corners better than your typical CA18DET-powered 1200.

As they say, it's all in the details.

i think you would need to recess firewall at least 6" to get same f/r weight distribution as a ca 1200

you could only use it from a drag or burnout car, the amount of work needed to 'mid-mount' a holden V6 would be astronomical! to me it would defeat the purpose.

Since its pretty much consensus that its not a licensable option, its either drag or burnour car material, so in the end, how much cut and shuting you need to do is not really the point.

perhaps you could mount it backwards like a VW and make it front wheel drive...
