Folks

Looking on the web and in the wiki everything is about the largest rims that can be fitted to cars.

I want to know id I can fit 13" rims onto the R31 rear end.

I know that they came with 14" rims standard.

I have also heard rumors that if you grind off the cooling fins off the calipers and remove the dust cover plate, 13" rims fit ...just.

Its just that 14" jap rims seem hard to find, and 13" suit the 1k so much better.

I had 13s (alloys) on mine, with about half the height of the cooling fins removed. Depending on wheel offset and how much more you take off 13" steelies could be possible.

Oh and this is a disc rear end that came from a silloutte not the drum rear, which I believe came with 15" rims standard. It was the standard models that came with 14" rims.

If the rumor about grinding the cooling fins off refered to the drum setup, that would make sense. The cooling fins on the disk calipers are pretty small. i didint think that they would make difference.

And thanks Perthute if you can check, that would be great.

I ran 13's on mine for 12 months. As mentioned below i had to grind the cooling fins down a bit (DISC BRAKE REAR).
