I'd love to have a front-mounted V6 1200. It will turn a corner, useful as a street car.

How many of you guys have driven one? I reckon you are talking theory, not actual experience.

Whomever did the V6 swap, good on ya.

Oh for sure its all theory, but theory baked up by a wealth of experience from around the world.

I havent dont it, but I did consider it in a 1k cause my old shell will be good for fark all.

Experience says the vehicle "won't go around corners"? That is ridiculous. You live in the country of large engines -- the Aussie muscle car. Look at that silly Torana with heavy engine in the front. Yet, it goes around corners and is not inherently a dangerous car. Or at least the AU government accepted its engineering...

Maybe what you meant to say is something like "a heavy engine is not optimal for handling and roadholding"?

haha, didn't mean to diss the torana, I like the older ones, but that 80s model looks like a pig in a tuxedo. Well maybe that's not fair, I'm biased I guess because early '80s models here in USA were "sticker" muscle cars, cause only the stickers were fast. We had 155 HP V8s for a while, that was in the hot cars. Average sedans has 120 HP V8s. Early 80s were dark times (at least here) for car lovers.

Well on a comparison i have driven plenty of V8 LC & LJ Toranas Not a great deal heavier than 1200 coupe's and they feel like they are going to shake themselves to bits.

What the heck is a Torana? It doesn't quite look like a Vega in the US but it doesn't look like a Monza either~

Heres a Torana LC GTR ( Also came out in base models and GTR XU-1 in LC and LJ) and a nice one at that Originally a straight 6 cylinder. People started dropping v8's in them in the late 70's early 80's
There was a prototype called the XU-2 same body but in the LJ has plastic grill and other newer style bits. It never launched but 3 were trialed at GMH testing plant. So later people started to build and register V8 ones some labelling them the XU-2. Could rattle on more but ya get the drift hopefully.
