how do you get the rear leaf spring bolts out? we got the nut off but i can't seem to work out how to get the bolt out. we taking the leafs off as they were reversed and we are taking the diff out too (its leaking & we want to know what ratio the diff is). so if anyone can shed me sum light on how to get the rear leaf bolts out please let me know ASAP as i want to hopefully get this done today.
Cheers Kirstie

ok got the plates off 1 side but the other one seems to be stuck on the bushes..( the ones the shackle pins are in)..do we hammer the pins out - or is that going to damage the pins?

bash e with a hammer thats softer than steel either nylon soft hammer or copper if u have it... i found the same problem with my ute ithink from memory i ended up using a steel hammr, damaging the bolts and then just cleaning the thread up with a die nut afterwards... shouldnt damage them too much

I know its a bit late now but i've just read your question.
1.No need to remove back shackles to pull spring pack apart(unless you are changing the main leaf) 2.Removing axles to get diff centre out is a cow of a job when the whole thing is out and on the ground,it's best to pull them whilst the housing is still bolted in. 3.When you put it all back together use plenty of rubber grease on your shackle rubbers.

and nip up bolts then sit car on the ground THEN final tighten bolts
if you tighten them with it jacked up all your bushes are pre twisted. You can view topic.
