Hi guys,

Look what just turned up in the mail! They are pretty hot if you ask me. They are 14x6's with a +10 offset. They appear to fit under the rears - just - however the fronts won't. Looks like I'm getting the fibreglass front guards sooner than I was planning!

Nice rims, I have a set of rims like that. Are they off a 200B GX ? Though mine seem a bit skinnier but could just be the standard tyres on them.

I actually got them off a guy that had them on an AE86, so don't know what they are originally off. I wanted something with some decent dish and these certainly have that! I think with tyres it is going to rub on the front guards. I really don't want to modify/molest the original front guards, so when I get the fibreglass ones, I'm happy to modify them instead.

bike engine sounds good, a motorbike gearbox just feels so good. i drove an aussie racing car the other day and these have yammy fj1200 engines and boxes in them and it's so awesome just lifting off when you change up and left foot braking and giving the throttle a brap on the downchanges.
what yamaha engine were you looking at? the new r1 engine looks nice but would be pricey i would think, it has variable length intake manifolds, how awesome is that? 200hp out of 1 litre is insane and it should have plenty of torque for the little 1000.

After speaking to the engineer, I am contemplating the FJR1300, due to the extra torque. He's happy to pass the extra capacity and would even so so far as engineering a Hayabusa engine. Looking into the costs of it all, I'm happy to fun with the extra torque. Helps if I ever contemplate putting a turbo on!

I'm interested in this build with moto power.
The 1k ute weighs two tenths of stuff all,would be cheap to cage and easy on the suspension and brakes(still upgraded)and could be used in CAMS events as a Sports Car legally

so with a cat and decent reverse system you could register it on the road? is there any laws against sequential boxes?
i really do hope you can get a bike engine in there, it'd probably lighter than the standard engine and as long as you got a nice light diff and tried to minimise weight all round it would be an absolute hoot to drive. i'd love to do a similar thing with a hayabusa or zx-14 motor in a 2dr 1000 sedan or shock horror ke10 corolla or ford anglia 105e. definitely keep us updated on your progress

The ZX14 is apparently the only bike out at the moment with a cat, so I could go down that road if I needed to. The engine+gearbox combo is under 80kgs which is great. The engineer has said due to the age of the car, pre 1974, there are a lot of rules that don't apply to it. I'd have to upgrade to disc brakes so there are a few things required. I'm hoping to aquire a good bike wreck in the next couple of months.
