Thanks to everyone for replying.
1200 rallycar, that twin setup is wild!
must have taken some time to fabricate that all up to fit properly!

spenc, i think cordia turbo may be too big, they might be off a 2L engine?

lethal_john, did you mean ct-12 as in toyota turbo? if so I would be interested.

Dale, i think GT17 is too big, I was lookin at garret specs today and i think the gt15 might be pushing it yet alone the 17 or 25.

and I think the TD015R is too small...
250-500cc... just looking at the exh inlet i think it would blow it to pieces.

The engine it is going to be used on is a Honda XR650R engine.with with mild work, they make about 53 hp @ 6600 , 47 ftlb @ 4600. >ROUGHLY<

I think one or two of these have been turbod and they are rumoured to make it into the 90 something Horses...

I really am aiming for something around the Garret gt12 / toyota CT12 size / specs

If anyone knows the equivelant of these in other turbos please let me know.

Also, the turbo may happen to find its way onto the datsun for a laugh too.

I have my custom sidedraught manifold with Dellorto45 sitting on my A15 at the moment....
With a blow through setup like that would I exceed 130 hp??

what about my offer??

lethal_john: rotors put out a lot more exhaust gas than a piston engine.. so even tho its only 1.2L its equivalent to at least dobble that by piston standards.

Jeffery that CT9 sounds promising, I had a quick trawel and the specs look ok... good for around 130hp @ crank on the 4efte...

akinaspeedstar, i am unfamiliar with the garret turbos, but on a chart i found online anything above the gt12 ie, gt15, gt17 etc are pusing it, i am presuming as the numbers get higher the bigger the turbo & hp?

The reason for needing a turbo very close to the 100 hp mark is that if it is too big the bike will be totally unridable.
on a car if she comes onto boost mid corner, then its all smiles.
on a bike if she comes onto boost mid corner it could be real bad. (especially on my bike which is more inlcined to just stand up instead of spin)

So if the turbo is too big it will be laggy and thats not so much of an inconvenience but rather it would be dangerous.

... now when it comes to the datsun, nearly all the turbos offered sound tempting... I am sorta using my bike as the 'guinea pig' if you will.
As its a single cylinder, carbied beast, It will give me a bit of practise setting up a blow thru before attempting the more complex datsun set up.

mmm twin delortos turbo'd now that would be interesting!
Anyone know what sort of power figures that would make?

im not 100% sure about that, maybe just later model turbo's have different codes..

this turb ive got is smaller than the t25 (came on 1.8 and 2L) they came as twin turbo's on GTR's. it would be comparable to Toyota ct12's maybe a tad bigger.

it has ceramic blades i believe which are fine for upto 15psi and spool faster as they are lighter. with a good manifold design and freer flowing exhaust then it would be able to spool even quicker.
