i ve got hilux diff - r32 skyline callipers and discs. hub 5 stud. s14 shocks all round, s14 lower arm, s14 tention rod. i m still wondering if i will do s14 anti roll bar still thinking about it. an sr20det as the engine
so mainly the roll cage should cover from the front strut tower to the rear strut tower. am i right about this?

Spenc: the rules might be a bit differnt in Malta.
DatsunSunny: best bet would be to get in contact with a local car club or rally organisation. They will be able to tell you what you can and cannot do with your car. Some of the mods you have done/want to do might make your car not fit with the class rules.

Our old sunny had basic seam welding around the front strut towers, rear suspension mounts and that was all that we had, we had a very basic cage (didnt go to front towers) and its still going.
My current 1200 coupe that im building is seamwelded around front towers, rails and gearbox mount, my cage picks up on the rear spring hanger mounts and still doesnt go to front towers, i have found no need to go to front towers as it doesnt seem to flex. Ill post up some photos in the next couple of days to show.
As been said before, contact local club and go have a look at what people are doing with there cars. cheers Ethan

its not rally exactly. it is hill climb. i can use sr20det and is part of the 2800cc group since a turbo engine has to multiply its cc by 1.4 rule 3.1
we have a roll cage reg. with the minimum design we can use. anything aded is accepted
and since i am doing a group5 class 2200cc+ car major alterations are accepted like change in wheel arches.
change of engine since the engine is the same make of the orriginal
change in brakes since they will break 20miles/hr in 20ft
i d lik to thank you ethan for ur suggestions. it is not that easy to have someone let you have a look at his car or what there is under the hood.
i know the regs by heart now. i ve been through them more than once.
i will post photos in the coming future with all the work done till now. we r hoping that next year we will be competing

If you like, check out http://www.techmasters.com.au/forum/ as this is probable more down the line that you are going down, someone should be able to help out with the finer details in regard to some of the mods you are planning.
