gear box ratio's

i think i found my problem!!!!
it could be my gear box, coming home today i revved it just past 7000 and then put 4th, to my horror it pulled to 5000, im geussing my ratio's are wrong. could someone please post the 1200 ute ratio's, so i can compair them to my vw ratio's  many thanks nicholas south africa

Most cars reach highest speed in Top Gear (4th in a 5-speed). Fifth gear is overdrive, meant for easy cruising, not top speed.
The ratios of the 1200 ute depend on the transmission installed -- what year and model is your transmission?
