Of era steering wheel for 1200 B110

Hey guys,
Im running a '75 B110 1200 4 door in the Marque/Historic car racing, one of our rules for this class is that only of era mods are alowed and I am batteling to find a decent steeringwheel that will suit the car as well as a small budget, for now the big old thin steering wheel is a mission to hold onto, looking for somthing thats a bit thicker, does anyone have some pics to what the steeringwheels looked like that were used in motorsport in the 70's? Thanks

I would think that most of the 70's production based racing cars retained their "big thin stock" steering wheels. In Australia I recall that "SAAS" steering wheels were rather popular though the 70's - 80's for the aftermarket wheel market.

I've come across this problem though only in grassroots, the scrutineers wont allow me to use my fluffy steering wheel cover cos it slips. I found a really nice steering wheel cover that's tight as a (well something really tight), and it makes the wheel nice and chunky to use as well as being less of a fire hazards as the fluffy cover.
It's a suede like item I found at Cheapa Auto Spares, though I assume any parts places would have it.

We only got about 10 240/260z's in South Africa, heaps of 280's though.
They dont let us run steering covers and we have to use FIA fire proof glooves which is why its such a mission to hang on to the thin wheel. Our champ pick up (B140) comes out (well came out now that they stopped production last year) with a semi ok looking steering wheel, it just feels like $5 lucky packet quality and again doesnt suit the "era" You can view topic.
