Any vic members want to be totally awesome and let me put their address as the garage address of a car I'm planning to buy, so I can keep vic rego on it... As far as I can tell from the paperwork nothing will ever come of it, unless I become wanted for some reason then police will look for the car at your address (I dont intend for this to happen lol). PM me ps. if you're wondering, the car is not a datsun, but it's an old nissan and is pretty cool :)

they wont... speeding fines go to the owner not to the car. The car would be in my name with me at my address, the car is simply garaged in Vic.

I'm not buying a heavily modified car without 12months rego, no matter what state it is. I want to get ACT rego when it suits me (for spare time and money) not straight away just so i can drive it.

I'm not sure how I would be defrauding the state of victoria? if anything they would be gaining money, for the rego and transfer fee/stamp duty.

Wouldn't you need to have a Victorian license ? just a thought. Plus i have owned cars from other states in NSW and they give you so many warnings before they get you for not changing the rego.

general rule of thumb is you need to change the rego to your home state after 3 months.
Might be a bit hard for the car your planning on tyrie ;)
unless you hook up with a vic based lady thats working in canberra, cause canberra is full of people that dont actually live there.
