Here some pics of number 9 (the ninth 1200 coupe I've owned since about 1984).

They are still out there, I picked this one up from Stanthorpe for the princely sum of $300!

My nephew Matt (in the pic) kindly agreed to help me out as my usual tow vehicle was unavailable, the other guy in the pic is he guy who owns the property (the car is, I should say was, his sons) He said he would take 250 if 300 was too much - I didn't have to heart to accept. One I looked at in Toowoomba was full of rust and they wanted more than double!!

This car was perfect to re-shell my race car, came less motor, gearbox, diff and most of the interior (CAMS guy shook his head big time when I told him I wanted to return this car to bitumem for IPRA - fitting swinging doors etc. ):

How weird is it that they have almost the same paint job!! They have come from about 1000miles apart. Speaking of colours, I find it amazing that out of nine cares this is the first one that I have owned that was originally mustard. The rest have either been white or the redish/orange colour.

Back to the new one, came with heavy sway bar set-up on front, half-cage (going to my nephew for his help), 14 inch alloys on the front and miscellaneous handy bits such as battery isilation swith, guages etc. The wheels on the back were actually on my 1st Coupe nearly 25 years ago! (see, you should never throw anything away!)

Travelled about 1000kays on the day. Gold Coast to Brisbane to meet up with the nephew then to Toowoomba to remove the diff from the racecar, then to Warwick to pick up my trailer from a mate who was racing in the Gemini series that W/E, then to Stanthorpe for the car, returned to Toowoomba dropped off the car, back to Warwick to return the trailer, then to Brisbane to my nephews and then back to the Coast.

Started at 6am Sat and got home at 1:30am Sunday morning!

Its a good thing have great family members who are willing to help out. Matt is only 18 and has his head screwed on right! Almost finished his mechanics apprenticeship and will to help anyone with car related stuff. I must say riding in the "Low Lux", which he said he had raised an inch all round for the trip, was an experience, I was surprised I wasn't p!ssing blood from kidney damage! I must say the best it rode was when the car was on the trailer. Thanks to loading it a little to far to the rear (which you can get away with when it is so light without running gear).

Here's a pic of Matt's ute, I sure he will appreciate me including it here, thanks again MATT!!

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

The two coupes in the thread are the only ones I have now. I tend to hit immovable objects pretty hard with them and they go to datto heaven. Hopefully that wont happen again.

I've only sold two of the previous 7 that I have owned.

This one will probably be spending alot of time on that trailer as it will be track only.

Things have changed a bit since the last one I built and I am currently investigating (well actually just getting more and more confused by) available suspension/brake set-up for Improved Production racing.

Everyone feel free to chime in with their opinion. I will be retaining the 13x7 inch wheels for starters and using the Yokohama control tyre. I'm thinking of using the weld-on collar syle coilover kit with good springs and good adjustable strut inserts (BILSTEIN/KONI/KYB etc.) And the biggest brakes I can get under 13" wheels.

-Pete.
