Here are the pics for all who are interested. I believe its a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone to own a genuine road registered GX coupe here in NSW!! Asking high $20k ...wish I didnt just buy that M3...

Sorry billyberch I complemented converted for the restoration (I'm confused as to who it belongs to).

Nice work on the car (to your friend) it's unbelievable.

Its down right gorgeous. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I was cashed up. Great detail has gone into this resto and the restorer should be congratulated.

Saying that I have my doubts on it being an original GX. A couple of things lead me to this conclusion.
steering wheel ilooks like a "sports option" wheel for a coupe, not a GX wheel.
Induction looks to be sourced from the later A14T with those square top carbs and blue air filter box.
The lanyard irons on the "c" pillars were a capitol motors fitted part, not something direct from the factory, same goes for the vinyl roof.
I am interested to know the year of manufacter as the "facelift bonnet" [GL/GX] was offerred in very late 72 and 73 only.
lastly the engine bay shot, the hose that connects from the front of the inlet manifold down to the the water inlet on the block appear to connect at a "T" piece rather than the hose connecting directly the water inlet pipe on the block.

I am in no way disputing the quality of this machine as I aspire to this level of build std, I am however questioning the authenticity of this being an original GX. I would gladly wish to be proven wrong.

amazing machine, have you pics of the compliance plate and a pic of the chassis stamping...that will solve whther at least the chassis is an original GX.
I know that John Taylor had an original GX he owned as a race car 20 years ago. It was never complied or registered though. Thats the only GX coupe I know of. Ive only seen photos of it.
The only other one which is close is Boz's Nismo wide body coupe. This is in Picton NSW and was rolled during a rally. The rear guards were expanded 1 inch each each side to accommoodate a wider track. One of those litle rule bends Nissan did back in production car racing. It also has no chassis numbers.
