Hi Guys,

i currently have a set of 195/50/15's on my 1000 and they rub a little on the gaurd, i have trimmed as much as possible but in still about 3mm shy of not scrubbing when punching it through corners, my question is are 195/45/15 a smidgen narrower aswell as a lesser sidewall.

or does anyone know of a slightly smaller 195/50/50 as i would think brands differ a little. (currently running federals)

Cheers

they shouldnt be.... it depends on the brand.... more expensive brands are truer to the size (usually) because of the stronger sidewalls, cheaper brands tend to flex a little more in the sidewall areas making them scrub.... ring Baz at Datsport.com he told me all this lol

The 195 will still be a 195 only the height of the sidewall will change, if you need something narrower try a 185.

get a guard roller, roll the lip and it may slightly pump the guard without too much trouble..

In Sydney there is a tyre shop that sell 175-55-15. Im running them on my 1200 coupe. They look smaller than the 195-50-15 on the rear of the car. I think the are oem tyres on the smart cars.

Use 175/70 on the front. Then they will be just as big in diameter as 195/50, but 20 mm narrower.
