It's not really a rant or a threat more of a sincere request for any Datto\eBay users out there.

If you advertise an A series head on ebay DON'T SAY IT'S A GX HEAD OR WHATEVER WITHOUT PROOF. All to often I see the pics of heads on there and guess whats missing from them? a pic of teh ports and a pic of the casting number...

There's a genuine need for normal roundport A series heads so if everybody just plays honestly I think it will go a long way to helping something something blah blah.( yeah I just couldn't think of what to say?)

Not being rude but buyer beware... ask for proof if you aren't confident to bid. If they can't offer it up then you'd be mad to part with your cash.

yeah i agree! seems that every oval port A14-A15 head is labeled 'GX', its a great selling point but its false advitisment!

I'm very sceptical when every there is a GX head on fleabay unless they can prove it.

Forum 'Etiquette': spelling

I don't know about GX heads, they were cheap-ish a while ago but now the prices have jumped. I suppose there haven't been that many round of late.

Steveo, pretty sure Coneheads is a GX.

Here is one that went for sale when prices were good. Rocker gear, great condition, porting and oversize valves as well. For me this gives a good indication of price for these parts, I would pay $400 for this one (it went for $350). Although it would probably only work on a performance engine.

Just for interests sake, the easiest and quickest way to identify a true GX heads is the height from the surface where the tappet cover bolts on to, to the actual internal part of the head that the oil returns on, on the port side, the distance is about 6mm on GX heads and about 2-3mm on non Gx heads

i never said coneheads wasn't a GX, it was a genralised comment about people who advitise an A14 or A15 head as a GX head, which there are alot of people who do that!
