Because you say Datsun instead of Datto, I'm thinking you're in the States. As for a rebuild "kit" in general an A12 won't need anything more than rings bearings and a gasket kit. My coupe has been raced for 20 years now so I get individual parts as needed. The Fel-Pro gasket sets can be had at the big name auto parts places as can the rings bearings...........keep in mind the A series engines were in production into the 80's so stuff is still common. Now if your planning on boring the motor out or anything beyond a slightly hotter cam and a weber 32/36 etc. Just go with an A14 or A15, I still have the A12 because it keeps the car vintage legal.

Let us no where you're at, the majority folks on here are from Australia & New Zealand but there are members from the Portugal, USA, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Canada, Japan, Costa Rica, Puerta Rico.................and a whole bunch of other places around the globe.

Tom

You can get rebuild parts anywhere. Get from Nissan or Rockauto.com. Just get what you need. Dissasemble and measure everything you can almost always use your 1200 existing pistons.

How to install? Just like rebuilding a V8, nearly identical. Get a 1200 repair manual and it will have all the information. Be very careful, measure the rod journals before you buy the parts to make sure it is rebuildable. If they are bad, it will be cheaper to swap in another engine like an A14 -- a lot more power and less expensive than a rebuild/maching a bad crankshaft.
