I have started the engine swap and after reading the tech section I would appreciate some clarification.
1.I am swapping from late model A12(120 Y) to an A15 in a 1200 coupe.
2. The engine mounts not the crossmember have alrady been modified to suit the later model A12 engine.
3. Do I have to raise the mounts so the engine sits lower to suit the A15. The wiki article says the A15 is about 25 mm higher than the A12,or will the same mounts do? if so is 25 mm enough.
4. I am running a blow through turbo set up so dont have any room to play with if the engine is higher.

Any advice appreciated

if the mounts are modded should go straight in,

check the sump and make sure you have clearance to the crossmember..

late A12 and A15 have the same mounting points on the engine...

However....

the brackets that attach to the engine are different...

B210 (120Y) ARE different from B310 (Sunny/210)

(learnt that when putting an engine out of a B310 into a B210)

I used 120Y A12 brackets onto a late ute crossmember and it all mounted quite nicely. It would also nicely mount a late A12 - so if your late A12 is already OK, then I think the A15 will be good to - worst case you might have to use the engine brackets from your late A12.

The A14 and A15 and late A12 should all mount the same...

a14 a15 are same block, different crank/rods pistons. should go in the same as late model a12, just block sits higher, not mounts from memory

Thanks for that.

I had thought that I had read that you had to change crossmembers, I'm glad I thought wrong.

only if you have an early a12 type x member. if you have a late model a12 with dizzy in middle, should bolt in

1971-1973 crossmembers match 1971-1973 engines
1974-up crossmembers match 1974-up engines.

only worry if you are mixing newer with older
