yer to be a ''inc'' car club you have to pay for the registrating of the name and to get post vinatge rego or cams you have to be a incorpation so there's no way around the start up fee with came to around $450 but most club charge monie eg i was in one that charged 100 a year and charged a admin fee for post vintage regos so for me it was better to start my own has theres no on going cost so much .

mine kind a perth thing cant see any benefit in joining if you not in wa has post vintage rego is different in every sate and im not cams aproveed yet ( this could be a ongoing fee )?

Howdy,

In South Australia there is the Nissan Datsun car club.

They welcome any Nissan/Datsuns and are a very social
based club.

They are also CAMS affiliated as well as being a member of the Marques Sports Cars Association which runs circuit sprints at Mallala.

It is only $50 per year to be a member.
Sorry, but I don't see a need for a seperate 1200's club

Cheers,
Geoff

yeah thats fair enough, but it doesn't have to be a CAMS approved club, the main point of the memberships is to give a percentage of the membership fee to the moderators for the up keep of this site. The idea of it being a CAms approved club was just an idea, Just thought i would put the idea out and see what people think.

Anybody else interested?

If your looking for a CAMS approved club, check out the CAMS webistite and they will point you in the right direction.

Whats the verdict? is anyone else interested in forming a datsun 1200 club? it doesn't necessarily have to be a CAMS approved club its just something to help support the moderators keep the site running and a thank you for their hardwork and their continuing effort in keeping this site running over the years.

There's also NCCA (Nissan Car Club Australia) in Vic as well - mostly rallys and offroad though - but lots of old Dattos, and no where near as many Zeds as NDSOC

I am in the throws of establishing a datsun club here in NZ. We have two websites, (here in NZ) and enough people to make it work. Here to become an incorperated society only costs $100 registration fee. We're holding a meeting next saturday to finalise our constitution. One day we want to be MANZ affilliated, but you gotta walk before you can run. The main thing is there are enough people to make it work. Our membership fee's are going to be very low. But the main idea is to lift the resposibility (if things go wrong) off the shoulders of any individual(s), and so we can apply to the charitable trusts for funding. Thats where we're hoping to get our hats, tee shirts, and stickers from. To "raise the profile of the club in the eye's on the community". And "help distance oursleves from the anti social boyracer elements of the community".
We have 40-50 people all within 30 minutes drive of one another. So having meetings isn't a problem. We have also have numerous other interested parties from outside Christchurch. But they may not get any real benifit from becoming financial members.

Thats the idea Bart, but as you can see there isn't as many people intersted, but you never know, but what i might do is do some leg work and find out some information and put a price for membership and what it will include, and also a small donation to the moderators will be included, but i'll be keeping the cost as low as possible, hopfully that will rouse a bit of interest, but we'll see.
