Your lock mechanisms are probably a little worn or bent (not the barrel but the mechanisms).

This is a common thing (from my experience) in 1200's.

You really need to pull the door cards off and have a real good look at what is supposed to line up where.

Have you go a manual? They are pretty helpful in terms of looking at what you are up against.

my mates 1200 had the same problem recently. He had a key made for his door lock, 'cos his car came with none. The key would turn, but it wouldn't quite pull the knob down enough to lock it. In the end all it needed was the rod from the back of the barrel to the latch to be bent more or straightened out more. (I can't remember which) Either way it was an easy fix.

Thanks for that info. My ute has the exact same problem (key will turn, but it won't quite pull the knob down enough to lock it).

i had this problem when putting my doors back on , you can adjust it on the inside of your door you will see the thread just above the door handle on the inside there is a nut on it and you adjust that and i have also found that a bit of wd40 spray works wonders as well.

made a new, shorter rod out of a coathanger for the boot on the wagon the other day...now it opens and closes a treat!
