Do a search in the wiki, there is a photo of it somewhere. It comes directly from the battery.

Your battery cables are corroded! That's the number "no start" cause. Take them off, clean them, coat lightly with grease, then put back together.

Take off all those wires too, sand/scrape the connectors to "shiny" condition and put back together. The two twisted wires might be corroded too.

If you get an electrical problem later on, with no fusible link you risk melting the whole wiring harness. Go to the wreckers and get a $1 fusible link to put back in there. Repco sells them too. I used one from a Ford.

thanks - I will clean all terminal and put in place a ford fusable link. As discussed before, I have power to the ballast resistor, the coil however, there seems not to spark at the plugs, the distributor is still in place and locked down as it was when it was running, maybe - i need to look at replacing the condensor once again - it was new only month ago - I did try and start it with old condensor from my ford however, this made little difference, there cheap so I might just grab a new one and see what happens - thanks - shall keep every on posted - fingers crossed so to speak

Get a FL for Datsun 1200, if they have it. I used Ford only because I had a spare one in the garage.
