got the car finally running and idling. its a pain in the ass to sync the carbs. When i drive it its bogs alot wont pull at all i think im getting lean pops. considering the carbs are from a 1100cc street bike.. i have a a14 with a nice cam and big ports with 10.4 :1 compression. Anyone have any ideas on getting it to get more fuel. i been reading about different needles. Shimming needles, different jets. Also gonna adjust floats. thanks

They like to be gravity fed. I have changed the spring in my fuel pump to drop the pressure.

Perhaps there is too much pressure.

Fair enough you have bigger capacity etc but do the bike engines pull alot more air? Higher rpm etc?

as far as syncing them I will use that one redline sells for syncing sidedrafts I think that will work for me. motorcycle mechanics normally tap into each runner. problem is I don't have vacum source on each runner. also I thought it would be enough fuel but I know its running lean it has to be. I running stock a14 mechanical fuel pump. when I hold choke on or cover part of carb intake it will rev .nicer ... getting to much air for the small amount of fuel. 1100 cc each cylinder is 275cc on a a14 is more then 350 cc per cynlinder.

I had to drill the main jets out heaps to get a decent a/f ratio in the top end. I packed 4 or 5 fibre washers under the needles to lift them up as well. As for synchronising the carbies I used a piece of mig wire as a feeler gauge to set the throttle butterflies the same and tuned the idle screws by ear, listening to the revs rise and fall. It ran well once it was sorted. Your fuel pump should be fine, I ran 6 psi of fuel pressure with a facet pump with no dramas.

Nice man.. thanks for info. btw i pinched the rubber velocity stacks to reduce air flow and car ran alot better but still no top end. i need to break motor in anyways got about 40 miles on it now. I need to find washers to fit the needle cup thing with spring. sounds like i will get this setup running. The main is the jet that sits into the float bowl right.
