Sorry to keep everybody waiting.

These engines and gearboxes are coming from overseas,
and I want to be absolutly sure about things when I reply.

We are still sourcing shipping, duty, transport etc costs
so these are not things we can guess at, and also we have
to cope with the language barrier as well. So please
bear with us and as soon as we have some firm costings
and descriptions we will let you know.

Sooo....

Did this turn into a flop?

Or are we still waiting? It did sound too good to be true.

I spoke to this bloke on the phone a couple of weeks ago, he's getting the gearbox's out of S Africa and doesn't know the cost yet for shipping or quantity he could fit on a pallet. The engines/inj setups are coming out of wrecking yards in malaysia and he's having trouble getting quantity per supplier due to the disorganisation of the people he's dealing with.

I was more confused after the phone call than before it.

Moving stuff overseas, whether internationally or not takes ALOT of preparation and a good set of balls to deal with the (majority) difficult people.

He may have found some trouble with customs as well. When I shipped all my A-series engines and panels and all sorts up to PNG it was a downright nightmare.

Flammable goods?

Duty?

Profit or personal use?

etc, etc.

I hope it works out for everyone. Particularly the BMC boys, a healthy shipment of this size would have taken the heat off the domestic Datsun prices!
