Guys,

I am researching all of the information regarding the Stanza strut swap as I am looking at going to an A15 next year for my 1971 (B120) ute. I have looked at various sites and there is a lot of info and options, but I would like all comments on the following set up keeping in mind that I will not be racing this thing:

Suspension

1) Replace Sway Bar with 120Y (20mm) Sway Bar with nolethane bushes

2) Replace Sway Bar / Lower Control Arm link with Stanza connection

Brakes

1) Replace struts with Imported Stanza Struts (1980 onwards)

2) Fit 200B disks with 200B Girlock Calipers

3) Fit New Ball joints

4) Fit Dual Master Brake Cylinder from 1200 Coupe or 180B or 200B

5) Fit Stanza Lower Control Arms and Steering Arms

6) Fit 120Y Castor Rods

Is this everything? I am running 13" rims. I take it that the remaining 1200 steering components (Pitman Arm, Idler Arm, Inner and Outer Tie Rods and the Track Rod) will not require any mods and will hook up with the above components?? Are there any tricks here?? I have also read somewhere that Stanza SSS struts are stiffer??? Over to you..

Regards,

Darren

the 1980 onwards stanza's have decent size discs (about 10") and girlock calipers..... i thought they were pretty much the same as 200b but correct me if im wrong..... the stanza discs will definately be enough for your needs...

everything should bolt up however there have been mixed results with 120y castor rods, some say they bolt straight up some say they dont.... i had to modify mine slightly....(anyone know if there is different rods from different model 120y's??)

if you use stanza top plates and springs you'll have to redrill your strut tower mounting holes out to 10mm instead of 8mm... and you'll need lowered springs as the stanza struts are a slightly taller unit....

only other thing i would reccomend is using rubber bushes as appose to nolethane, if you can get them....

good luck.....

Ange,

Thanks for the reply. I understand you can cut the coils down a little to fit on the Stanza springs. I think Stanza disks are 8.5" but the 200b are slightly larger at 9.5" and will bolt straight on with no mods. Am not sure on the 120Y Castor Rods, can anybody else out there help?

cheers,

Darren
