Car Doesn't Start

Hi Guys,
I washed my car engine compartment , after that it doesn't start, i checked the ignition there was no ignition came from the distributor, then changed the distributor condenser then it started giving electricity , but still it doesn't start, when i touch distributor cap , i always get shocked by electricity. is that possible or is there a leak in my distributor cap ? thanks Regards Sumith

If you wet the engine then i would start by checking if there is any moisture inside the distributor cap also pull all the ignition leads off the cap one by one and make sure there is no water in there. First thing an old Car Detailer does after a degrease.

Cleaned the Distributor cap , spark plugs, Air Cleaner and also Platinum ,If you get shocked electric from the Distributor cap ? does it mean that i want to change it ? or it is defective ? thanks Regards Sumith

You probably need to blow out your dizzy and ignition leads with an air gun, even the smallest amount of water can make it not start, when you clean your motor you should always put a rag over the dizzy and coil so no water gets in there..

This is what I do after the cap gets wet.
1. Mark and label the plug wires 2. Remove the cap 3. Take inside the house and wash with dish soap and water 4. Let dry overnight 5. Next morning fit the cap and engine starts right up You can view topic.
