"56A Option 2" box would be the one with "mid-close" ratios or the one with "ultra-close" ratios? Mid-close being the one with a 3.757 1st gear and ultra-close being the one with a 2.676 1st gear.
Unfortunately the tech-wiki on this topic confuses more than it clarifies. I'm interested though.

Yeah now it makes more sense why people go for conversions. Good luck with the sale people will pay the asking price, I'm just not one of them.

i was under the impression that for the price ur chasing($1100-$1200) someone could put a celica 5-speed, which is stronger than a datsun 5-speed, for less than tha amount, including a Dellow kit an tailshaft.
good luck to u buddy.

PM sent.
yeah cost a little more than that for a toyota G/box conversion, plus as a bonus the Datsun 5 speed is a straight bolt in no mucking around with tailshafts and all the other stuff associated with the conversion. The A-series 5-speeds would suit a NA a-series with no dramas, but a forced induction set-up warrants a toyota conversion.

How 'rebuilt' is the 56a? Are we talking bearings or has it had other stuff done to it. Hardness testing and crack testing? wWhat sort of condition are the synchro's in and the 4th / 5th fork? they are common for cracking.
