Hello

I just picked up an IHI turbo and can't find any specs on it.
I have no idea what it is off.
Turbo Spec VIDG 0203
Serial No. RHF5 2105DA

I am thinking about putting it on an A15 in a blow through setup. The turbo came with oil and water lines on a manifold with a dump pipe.
I just need to know if it will be good enough. I don't want it to run out of power and 4000 revs.

any help will be appreciated

Easy way is to take it to a turbo shop and let them check it out and tel you from what car it came.

IHI Turbos website. That at least has some specs for you I've noticed but I couldn't find oem applications. I thought they were used on Diahatsu's myself?

A fellow member, frankthedolphintrainer ran a IHI VJ26 on his A14 efi turbo, he might be able to shed some light on the subject.

From mhat i've heard through the grapevine is the they are the standard turbo off a WRX, not a bad turbo but garrett turbos are more reliable(depends on application of course).

Have you tried doing a google search? you should be able to find something that will help you.

yeah I have searched on google a bit.
Thee is not much info when you search for VIDG which is the main specification for the turbo.
I think that it is off a 3 litre diesel out of a jackaroo or rodeo. Pretty sure it is from a Isuzu engine.

http://www.turbomaster.info/eng/catal ... .php?base=ihi&pagina=RHF5

that is the best info I have found for the RHF5 VIDG

Thanks for the help so far.

AHHH! diesel turbo eh? when building my turbo A14, it was recommended to me to run a diesel turbo because they're made to run hard day in day out, but you have to change the seals as petrol can eat through them.

What are the particulars of the turbo you're thinking of building? engine internal, carby etc?

Hey Steveo.

I am not sure on my specs for my motor. The previous owner told me that it has some head work, a cam and a forged bottom end. It is an A15. It is cammy at idle.
I am not sure if i am going to use this IHI turbo or just get a T25 for it. It will be blow through but not sure on the carby yet. Probably a 350 holley the same as yours steveo. I just need to get regulator and find some one to swap some 650 hollies for a good 350. then make up some pipes. I have axes to a Laser cutter to make flanges but not sure yet if I will make a manifold. If i can get a cad drawing of the manifold flanges then i will get some cut.
