Big block A14/A15 86mm stroker project

Wanting to maintain 77mm bores for strength in case I boost it later
so I would really need to play with the crankpins, rods and pistons. So far the plan is: A14/A15 block Honda EL pistons (27.5mm comp height 77mm diameter) Honda d15 rods (134mm length 38-40mm crankpins - depending on model) A15 crank offset ground 4mm to 86mm stroke (sr20de sized stroke :) Final capacity: 1.602 litres Rod stroke ratio: 1.558 enough for 6500rpm. The question is does anybody know of a 133mm rod c-c with small rod ends? It has to be beefy enough. The Honda D15 although made to take around 180hp it still is a thin rod. Any others that come to mind or does anyone have any rod chart or info so I can see the big end sizes and rod lengths? Dont want to go custom rods.

Don't know about rods, but get the crank nitrided, or it'll crack.Getting the crank machined will cost a bit of money. Even if you can do it yourself, there's still the time spent machining it. Cheap insurance to my reckoning.

The only crank work will be to the crankpins,
so those areas will get hardening, polishing, galleries opened, and then full balance again. Its not as expensive as re-claiming and machining of the mains. Would love to know of any 133mm rods with smaller journals.

I looked into this sort of thing about 4 or 5 years back. From memory, I think the E15 rods are 133mm centre to centre and use a 40mm big end journal size (rather than 45mm on a-series). I was going to use E15 Turbo rods as they were beefy looking forged jobs.
The costs and difficulties associated with offset grinding turned me off the idea. Oh, and it was about that time that we stripped the race A15 and found two cracked journals, so the idea of machining them down 5mm sounded about silly. Have you thought of running the E16 crank?? I think its stroke is 88mm and will negate the machining process plus suit the e-series rods perfectly. I haven't tried an e-series crank into an a-series block so don't know what difficulties, if any, you will encounter.

I looked into the e16 crank but it is more difficult to fit
as the pulley snout is too small to start with. The e15et rods are unfortunately 136.65mm c-c so otherwise Id be there for sure. Most bike rods are too short also and so is the 4agze ones at 122mm. You can view topic.
