Guys, I think I may have mentioned this a while ago but, here goes.

My girlfriend is going to South Africa soon and she and her parents are happy to bring back some (small) items for me. Ofcourse I want them to get some new stuff from the local nissan dealers that we cant get. Her uncle wil search around now for me so the parts are there when they get there but what do I want is the quesion?

What is worth wile? It needs to be light (no gearboxes :( ) and kinda small. What do you guys reckon? Badges, interior bits, injection manifolds? I dunno??? Any of you South African guys got any idea or how much rand it will cost me for some stuff.

Cheers,

Simon

Hi

I suggest you look at a site called autostyle.co.za which has nice aftermarket acc. with prices. the other option is to go to nissan.co.za where they have a parts guide for the vehicle with prices in South african Rand. At the exchange rate for you guys the stuff is almost for free.

Good luck

Hi

Yes SA had the GX fitted with twin SU's but most guys upgraded to twin sidedrafght webers or dellorto's. Current "bakkie" or ute as you guys call it has an A14 engine and most upgades would be with a downdraght weber.

if you want body parts try a company called capricorn parts, very cheap. parts are very easy to come by in s.a, there is also a big pirate market if you want really cheap spares

Nicholas, by "pirate market" do you mean stolen parts, or parts not legally imported (taxes, etc) or knockoff/counterfeit/unwarranteed parts?

it's knock off parts but the quality is the same if not better than the genuine parts. i recommend getting pistons, rings, bearings and only payen gasket kits from here my whole rebuild with parts and machine costs was about R1000.oo

I have already got some GX stuff like head and carbs, but I reckon some interior stuff and badges would be sweet. How about grills? I got one brand new when I did up my old coupe but that same company cant get them anymore. Any other suggestions? Something rare or something of the newer 1200 bakkies that would fit our ute/coupes.

Hi

How about a new original steering wheel (small three spoke sport) although possibly only availiable in light brown, or some tail light lenses with clear indicators?
