That has been my experience too. My current Datsun still has all the 1972 smog equipment, no problems.

Thanks for the input, I had a feeling it was either fuel or air, this car was a long time sitter so I'm betting the fuel lines are gummed up.
Also Im lookng for a new dome light fixture in addition to a tach, mine has fallen apart.

I will keep an eye out for both. "WARNING" These are both very hard to find items.

The 1600\1200\bluebird? ones on ebay fit up correctly as I bought one to replace my broken interior light but the old lens can't be used as the new unit is just fractionally bigger. Nice light though but ideally I would like to find a mint old one with the octagonal lens and the correct amount of natural fading in the plastic.

Any pictures of the "HB 210 GTO". You stated this was stamped on th engine plate, are you refering to the engine block?, or the plate on the bulk head of the engine bay?

H means high-level engine: A14 (1397cc).
B210 is the model.

In USA, all our B210 are belong to HB210.

In ZA they also had the PB210 with the Power engine L14, which is 1428cc. 70KW @ 6400 in single carb and 85KW @ 7200 in twin-carb version.
