Thanks for the info dattodude! I don`t know why I didn`t call Nissan first?
They had the plastic wiper covers ex- Melbourne & only cost me $9 for both.
I do have another question though.
Does anyone know if any 1200 model came with intermittent wiper controls?
I`ve been to the Nissan SA website, found the wiper control switch in the parts diagram, only to find no identifying number or part#.I don`t know for sure if the new BAKKIE would have an intermittent wiper control, does anyone know?
I thought of asking an auto-leky,but I don`t like the idea of drilling holes & some weird intermittent control set-up on the dash!
Does anyone have `em in their Datto?
I`m just sick & tired of those switch ON switch OFF drizzly rain days l
Any thoughts?

ive seen a car at the wreckers which had an add on dial under the dash, it contolled the intermittent wires, im not 100% sure but i guess it wires in somehow and allows intermittent wiping

i still want to figure out a really good upgrade to the entire wiper system for my rally car, i'd really like to add a stalk on the steering column to contol the wipers, like newer cars

how about two rear wipers off a honda civic or a comodore or something with a rear wiper. Just wire them in paralel with the correct sweep angle and maybe some extension on the wiper arm mount, and you could have a quick, cheap and effective wiper system. just have to fond one with a decent sweep pattern for a 1200 windscreen. i have the ideas.

I think you might be a little "unfamilia" with this thread! (punn intended)

I asked for any thoughts on the subject of intermittent wiper "CONTROLS", not wiper arms! But now you mention it,would look pretty cool with a single, full sreen coverage wiper arm!

Hmm......food for thought

you want a steering column with both wipers & headlights on it,try a sunny.you'd probably have to get the steering box as well, but someone mentioned recently these have a quicker ratio.also, for intermittent wipers on the sunny column, try n12 pulsar, where you can get intermittent & variable intermittent wipers, all you need to do is get the control box from the donor car,& this is right next to the wiper motor.wiring it up can be done with the help of an auto electrician.i've had this in my sunny panel van for so long i've forgotten how the wiring goes.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

my friend has his wiper controls on an arm on the collumn i'll ask him where he got it and how he did it. your wipers have the dual speed control doesn't it ? 1 click out for slow and the 2 for fast. just get a "dimmer switch" like for light bulbs in houses but the car veriety. EA falcons have a light dimmer in thier car maybe you could use one of those. it's like a slide wheel

ok, back to fm1200 thread... not another 1200rc thread (no more hijacking of this thread apparently )

jay car make a dimmer kit/ variable wiper kit from memory, and so do dick smiths it think. if you want to knockone up your self fo abot $30 or just look around the wreckers till you find something good like the ea falcon dimmer switch thingy.
personally, i think replacing wiper blades every two months is a better and lazy way of doing it cause you just leave your wipers on all the time.
Also that rain goes stuff works pretty well and water travels up my windscreen even at 30 kmh. try it for $7 a bottle.
