Eric's not happy, about to have head in hands!

I have coolant seeping out the back of the block meets the head area (green fluid around the head gasket area). I can see no source of origin. No smoke, oil is beautiful and coolant is clean. But, I see this as a needs to be done sort of thing. Any body have a contrary opinion.
If not, I will be leaving my "77" A14 100% stock. Should I use a "nismo" head gasket or is any conventional auto parts store head kit worthy of use? I am willing to spend the extra dollar for rliability and top performance "for a 100% stock engine"

What color is the antifreeze you are using?
In SA we do not get the Nismo parts, just buy a decent known brand.

Green.
Being that I can get "nismo" here in the USA, would I be happy if I did? I plan on spending a lot of money on this car, so I want to do things right. But, I do not want to be stupid and throw money away.

Have you checked the tightness of the hose clamp on the heater hose that goes from the back of the head to the shutoff valve. It would be right above where you've got a 'leak'. It might also be a pin hole or a split in this hose. Are you losing coolant? Quickly or slowly? Maybe you need to retension the head gasket, as there are 2 water galleries atthis part of the block.

New hose on the rear heater inlet. I checked with a scoping mirror pretty well and I see no trace starting from the hose or inlet pipe. I was wondering about recinching the head bolts though. I have 75,000 orig miles. Is this something that would be done on a 32 yr old engine?

This is just a slow seep. I have not had the head off and from the looks of things I would say that it has not been off for the life of the car.

sounds like you need to replace the head gasket.

did you just change the head gasket?
i found the hard way that if they are on wrong, which is very easy to do, they will p1ss coolant out the back of the head. if you havent replaced the gasket recently, you may need to.

I agree that I will be replacing my head gasket. Any suggestions on wether to "Nismo" or not to "Nismo". As stated earlier I need this to be a reliable car not only tommorow for some time to come.
