1/2", thats big. You might need some longer studs.

I am being told that using a spacer of an 1/2" is dangerous. Any thoughts? Also, how much tread do I need to capture on the stud (I need to know how long of a stud I need to have)

The wheel nut should have complete thread, If the stud sticks out a couple mm thats perfect.
I have 8mm spacers on my work van but they are illegal here.

i think thread depth should be the same as the stud diameter 10mm diameter=10mm depth, less is bad, more is useless.

maybe I didn't word that post too well, but I thought a couple of mm more is a lot better than a couple of mm less.
